How we pick gear, what we actually use, and the affiliate disclosure
By Lam Tran · October 8, 2026
I'm Lam Tran. I was a school teacher in Vietnam, then worked in real estate, and today I run Rồng Việt Media — a small team producing faceless and AI-assisted YouTube channels for English-speaking and Vietnamese audiences. Some of our channels are monetized. One of them was demonetized and had videos removed for copyright, which is where most of my opinions about 'doing it properly' come from.
How products get on this site
- We start from Amazon's best-seller rankings for the categories a home studio needs: microphones, lighting, backdrops, cameras, storage, headphones, tripods. The date each ranking was recorded is shown on every page.
- We remove anything we would not recommend to a beginner — gear that needs a pro setup to shine, or items that only rank because of a seasonal spike.
- For each product we watch public video reviews and read the manufacturer's listing, then write a short, plain-English summary: strengths, trade-offs, who it is for.
- Where I personally use the product (green screen, desk microphone), the page says so. Where I don't, the page says it is a summary of public information.
What this site is not
We do not run lab tests. We do not list prices or star ratings on our pages, because they change daily — every product links to its Amazon listing so you see today's numbers. We do not promise income: a microphone will not make your channel profitable, and anyone who says otherwise is selling you something.
Affiliate disclosure
Links to Amazon on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions do not decide which products appear or how they are described. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
